Is there any treatment to prevent hair loss?
Every healthy person, male or female, has an average of 120 thousand hairs on the scalp. Hair removal can be identified by the daily amount of hair loss. An average of one hundred hair strands each day are thought to be normal for every healthy person. There is hair loss if there are 150 to 200 hair losing events every day. Initially, it is best to stay away from the things that lead to hair loss.
Supportive hair treatments should be applied if our patient has hair loss due to genetic factors. In case of stress, vitamin deficiency, some hormonal disorders, thyroid disorders, and rheumatic diseases, relevant examinations should be performed by a specialist physician, and a treatment program should be prepared accordingly.
There are precautions that our patients can take daily and supplements that they can take by regulating the foods they consume before starting the hair loss treatment. These:
- Avoid using overly hot water when shampooing your hair.
- Frequent washing is not suitable for hair. Every two days, wash it with the appropriate shampoo and lukewarm water. Shampoo and soap should be used every two days if you plan to wash your hair daily.
- Soap or shampoo used during washing should not be applied more than twice. Shampoo and soap use are known to disturb the scalp's natural flora.
- Hair loss can result from using hair lighteners and dyes to lighten hair. If you use these products, you should avoid skin contact.
- Hair straighteners, stylers, or blow dryers should not be used too often, and it would be more appropriate to use these devices once a week.
- Hair combing should be done daily. While combing, sparse tooth combs obtained from natural materials should be used.
- In order to stop hair loss, you need modify your diet. Protein intake is very important. A bowl of yogurt or two glasses of milk can be consumed daily to provide this. For natural vitamin A intake, according to the season, Strawberries, watermelon, pomegranate, grapefruit, orange, and carrot can be consumed.
- Foods for phytoestrogen supplementation can be consumed against the increase of androgen hormone. Phytoestrogen is not found in the endocrine system in our body. For this reason, pumpkin seeds, soy, tea, spinach, and legumes should be consumed.
- Of the products containing biotin, legumes, cereals, egg yolk, and offal such as kidney and liver should be consumed.
- Against iron deficiency, red meat and green leafy vegetables should be consumed.
Non-Surgical Hair Loss Treatment
When it comes to hair loss treatment, hair transplant treatment usually comes to mind. Hair transplantation is a surgical operation in which local anesthesia is applied. Even when a surgical procedure is involved, some of our patients approach this treatment at a distance due to their health not allowing them and their concerns.
Non-surgical hair loss treatment does not include any surgical operation. After the causes of hair loss are determined by several tests, a treatment plan is made and applied. Treatment methods to stop hair loss and repair hair follicles include hormone balance regulating treatments, vitamin supplements, micro pigmentation, mesotherapy, stem cell treatment / autologous micro-graft therapy, and platelet rich plasma, which we call PRP for short.
